This is absolutely my favorite nail salon. The entire staff are always friendly, polite and helpful. They have a huge selections of colors to choose and their polishes are never diluted. They are priced fairly reasonably and remain very affordable. Not to mention, they offer many different types of services. What I love most is the time they take to serve me. There’s no rush or urgency to get to the next person. You’re offered a drink while being served. As of recent, they’re offering wax pedicure, it was amazing. Come and check them out, you will not be disappointed.
I honestly liked the new owners at first. They clearly upgraded the salon and offered a wide range of colors. They were also current on newer products and nail styles. Young group of people who are in trend with the industry. Yet within five months their service got worse and prices kept going up to the point that they duck taped the menu to no longer show prices. Most recent visit I called ahead to request the price for service ($45 for a ombré refill -just pink). Once I arrived the price shot up to $80. If I was using THEIR products I can’t question price, yet I still would’ve passed on a $80 refill for ombré. I brought my own products like they advised since they order in bulk and don’t order my acrylic colors. I also purchased my own bc I intended on being a permanent client. But why would I be paying $60-$80 for a refill using my products. Due to my length, I was told. But I’m using MY products and when I mentioned it he obliged and said $65. I had somewhere to be and needed my nails done so I just paid it. He actually did a better job reshaping the refill than he did on the full set. Once in the car I noted acrylic build up all around my nail. Uneven nail bed with a obvious bump towards the cuticle. I felt it was intentional bc he was hell bent on trying to convince me that I needed a white refill, further driving up the price. But any decent nail tech knows all you have to do is buff down the pink to make it even when you do a refill. That goes for any refill/fullset! Buff It until it’s even and consistent across all ten nails. Two days later my thumb nail broke, they fixed it for free and told me “to be careful” due to my nail length. The new nail tip he used was curved , the original tips were straight. He even shaped it differently and did not blend the acrylics. My thumb looks like pink candy corn. Listen well, I actually attended school to be a nail tech. I’m not some random with zero insight or a Karen complaining. I’m particular bc I’m paying and I know what good work looks like. Also know how long good work should last. Length is not the issue. I do not work with my hands or use my hands aggressively, and three more nails have broken. It’s their technique and rushing through customers. It’s not the acrylic be they offer the same brand, they just don’t offer these specific colors. They do not take direction well, they are not thorough with technique or nail cleanup, they are not consistent with the tip style they use, they do not pay attention, their prices do not reflect the neighborhood they are located in (this is not NYC with its high cost of living where a $80 refill would be “normal”). Their prices also do not reflect their skillset or customer service. The moment you make a request that falls out of their norm , speak up or advocate for yourself, you will be tolerated and then talked about in their language. I know because I left my Vietnamese friend on the phone during my refill appt. If you want bare minimum nails/feet then they can do that fine. I’m talking square shape full set, natural, standard gel polish. They offer elevated services but they do not know how to handle specific request or particular clients at - all. Neverrr wanted to leave a bad review, especially not this long of a review, but after my last two visits I feel like I need to. When you’re spending hard earned money in this economy you deserve quality service and proper treatment, not be tolerated or price gouged. I hope they deeply reconsider their prices and standard of customer service. There’s potential in the shop, but I won’t be there to witness it any more. FYI. This set is less than two months old. I got the full set and one refill since. It has been almost two weeks since my refill.
I was hesitant to go back to this place after previously going for pedicures and not being satisfied with the outcome. I returned years later to then have my nails done, and things were going well for a while. I stopped going because the staff, mainly the men staff, did not listen to my concerns about my nails. They were aggressive, even cutting my skin while cleaning at times. If I pointed out something (like a previous color) still on my nails after preparing to redo them, I would receive attitude as if I did something wrong. The environment became uncomfortable, so I found a new place because anyone who is paying with their hard earned money deserves good customer service and care for what they're paying for.
EDIT (2nd time) Tina's responded to my Review, till I replied back to them & now they deleted their response! That should tell ya something right there! Anyway, from the more recent reviews I've read, seems like I'm not the only one with an issue about the cost/ hidden costs. I think y'all are purposely not listing your prices so you can get more money..... kinda like entrapment! Maybe even false advertising! You're ripping people off and you don't seem to care. Ppl come in expecting to spend one thing & leave with their pockets a lot lighter than when they got there. What kind of establishment doesn't have a FULL PRICE LIST DISPLAYED so the customers aren't getting a surprise total at the end of, what should be, a relaxing experience!? People who are out to rip you off..... that's who! Stay away from Tina's unless you like shotty (at best) and overpriced nails that won't last! Owner never makes things right! She stands on business that everything she does is "perfectly fine" Stopped in here last Friday. Our pedis look great! Service from the tech was great! The establishment was clean & laid out nicely. However...... it cost me $92 (not including a tip) for My pedi & my 3 year old daughters "pedi" (her feet weren't done. She only got her toes painted. They didn't even have to remove her polish, I did that at home). $92 for a pedicure & painted toes?! I got an upgraded pedi (i think it was 40 bucks) & we did gel polish, and they charged an extra $30 for that, too. If you're rich & can afford $100+ for a pedi & toe paint, then enjoy. If not, do not go here! The girl said "i told you it was $30 more for gel polish" & she most certainly DID NOT SAY THAT TO ME! I know SOME places upcharge for gel but that much is crazy! My place doesn't even charge more for gel. I left this place annoyed & frustrated that it cost me over $100 for ONE pedicure & my daughters toe nails to get painted!! (The upcharge for gel on her toes wasn't worth it! Big toe on her right foot has no polish left..... it's gone, fell off a couple days ago, so it lasted less than one week. (Edited so i can respond to the Salon....... Everything you said was correct except 2 things. 1....I was not told it would be that much more for gel, I was never told how much more gel was. 2.... My daughter did NOT get a pedi, from a distance you might have ASSUMED she got one but she DID NOT. She only got her toes painted. She wanted to put her feet in the tub of water, so I asked the girl setting us up if she could put her feet in water, she said sure & my daughter soaked her feet n splashed around a lil. Again, NO PEDICURE she didn't touch her feet except to dry them, then she painted her toes.)
